About the Manchester desk

Portal Field Grid began as a Saturday stack of printed recaps passed around a small table near St Peter’s Square. Collectors who followed Marvel digital comics as conversation pieces wanted a page that remembered the talk, not a feed that shouted numbers. The desk kept the habit and put the pages on this site.

Mission

We write Marvel NFT comic community highlights so a reader who missed the week can still name the issue, the argument, and the mood. We keep wallets, brokers, and investment talk out of the house style.

Origin

The first recaps were photocopies. A printer in the Northern Quarter ate two covers and we learned to write titles in plain type. When NFT listings made the crowd louder, we did not change the job. We only dated the drop window more carefully.

Expertise

The people at the desk read comics for a living hour, then read forums for a shorter hour. We know issue credits, variant cover habits, and the difference between a reading crowd and a listing crowd. We are not market analysts.

People

Leads sit in Manchester. Contributors rotate: one person watches drop-day threads, one person marks page turns, one person cuts rumours. Names go on a recap when the writer wants them on; otherwise the desk signs as Portal Field Grid.

Working approach

We quote public speech. We ask before we use a first name from a local table. We label numbers as community speech. We will refuse a recap that is only a price list.

Values

Honesty of room (floor versus forum). Respect for trademark owners. No fake scarcity. No countdown. Contact by telephone or email only.

Relationship to the community

We are guests in other people’s talk. Marvel Characters, Inc., Marvel Entertainment, LLC, and The Walt Disney Company do not endorse this desk. Veve does not operate it. Binance Holdings Ltd does not operate it. Readers who still want a recap after reading those sentences are our readers.
